A four-track package that pulls deep on the bush techno bloodline. RC153 brings together some of the Australian underground's most distinctive voices, anchored by a collaboration between Aztoria and Stoned Ape Theory and reworked across three remixes from Käse Kochen, Rainbird and Aurelius.
The original 'Ancient Knowledge' sits at the meeting point of psy-tech and bush techno. Built on rolling basslines, hypnotic grooves, and the kind of atmospheric detail that has defined the Australian outdoor sound for years. Aztoria, the psy-tech evolution of Flow-Theory's Ashley Zadel, brings his signature balance of dark-edged intensity and captivating melody. Stoned Ape Theory, the new duo project from Beyond Senses and Sidetrkt, sharpens the edges. Together the pair deliver a peak-time cut that feels equal parts ceremonial and dancefloor-ready.
The remix package leans into a few of the most respected names in the scene.
Käse Kochen reworks 'Ancient Knowledge' into something tightly wound and hypnotic. A blend of synthetic and organic that holds the original's intent while pushing it into deeper territory.
Rainbird, the Byron Bay hinterlands experimentalist, takes the track somewhere more boundless. Snappy low-end tendencies meet psychedelic textures and the kind of progressive arrangement that has placed him at the forefront of contemporary outdoor music culture.
Aurelius, the new project from Sydney prog-psy producer Meraki, closes the package with a remix that carries his trademark depth and forward motion.
Four tracks. Four perspectives on the same idea. A defining release for the bush techno movement and a continuation of Recovery Collective's long-standing connection to the Australian underground.
